To be eligible for Soundrop's Automated Claiming, your track must be musical content and the sounds used in the recording must be exclusive to your track. Tracks containing non-exclusive audio or certain types of content aren't eligible for Automated Claiming.
What does "exclusive" mean?
The audio in your recording must be exclusive to your track.
Your track isn't eligible if it contains audio that other creators are also permitted to use, such as:
- royalty-free production loops or samples;
- Creative Commons licensed sounds;
- sound effects;
- soundbeds; or
- other non-exclusive audio.
This is important because Automated Claiming identifies and claims uses of your recording on social media. Audio that is also legitimately used in other recordings can't be reliably claimed as exclusive to your track.
What types of music aren't eligible?
The following types of recordings aren't eligible for Automated Claiming:
- classical recordings of public domain compositions;
- DJ sets, continuous mixes, and similar compilations;
- karaoke recordings;
- meditation, yoga, or sleep music;
- recordings containing production loops or other royalty-free samples;
- recordings containing soundbeds;
- recordings containing sound effects or Creative Commons licensed sounds;
- sound-alike recordings; and
- piano-only instrumentals.
Is non-musical audio eligible?
No. Soundrop only accepts musical content for Automated Claiming.
What if only part of my track contains non-exclusive audio?
If your recording contains non-exclusive audio, the track isn't eligible for Automated Claiming.
This applies even if the non-exclusive audio is only one element of the recording.
Does eligibility guarantee that my track will be approved?
No. Meeting these eligibility requirements doesn't guarantee approval.
All content submitted to Soundrop must also comply with Soundrop's Usage Guidelines and Terms of Service.
How do I use Automated Claiming?
If your music meets these requirements, you can opt in to Automated Claiming when distributing your music through Soundrop.
