You can request a refund from Soundrop within 90 days of your original purchase, as long as your release has not been inspected by Soundrop. You can still request a refund if you've submitted your release and it's waiting for inspection.
Different rules apply to cover song licensing fees.
When can I get a refund?
Your purchase is eligible for a refund if:
- you request the refund within 90 days of the original purchase; and
- Soundrop has not yet inspected your release.
This includes releases that have been submitted and are still waiting in the inspection queue. Once Soundrop has inspected your release, your purchase is no longer eligible for a refund.
Can I get a refund for a cover song license?
Cover song licensing fees have different refund requirements. You can request a refund of your cover song licensing fee if Soundrop is unable to license your track.
Once your track has been successfully licensed, the licensing fee is non-refundable. This means you won't receive a refund for the licensing fee if you later decide to cancel or take down the release.
Do I need to pay for another cover song license if I create a new release?
Not necessarily. If you're using the same licensed track with the same audio and metadata, you can reuse the existing licensed track when creating another release. You don't need to purchase the license again.
When creating your new release, search for and select the existing licensed track instead of creating a new track. You may need a new license if you make significant changes to the audio or metadata of the licensed track.
How do I request a refund?
If your purchase meets the requirements above, contact Soundrop Support to request a refund. Include:
- the email address associated with your Soundrop account;
- the release or purchase you're requesting a refund for; and
- the reason for your refund request.
Soundrop Support will review your request and confirm your eligibility.
