To keep your Soundrop account active and your music available through our services, you must follow Soundrop's policies and make sure you have the necessary rights to the content you submit.
Soundrop may remove content, withhold earnings, restrict services, or close accounts when necessary to address fraud, rights violations, abusive behavior, or prohibited content.
Fraud and artificial streaming
Soundrop has a zero-tolerance policy for fraud. Fraudulent activity includes:
- Artificial streaming: Using bots, click farms, paid services, or other methods to artificially increase streams, plays, followers, or revenue.
- Financial fraud: Using stolen or unauthorized payment information or engaging in fraudulent transactions.
- Misrepresenting your identity or content: Uploading another artist's music, pirating content, impersonating another artist, or otherwise misrepresenting who you are or what you're distributing.
Avoid any service that promises or guarantees streams or plays. These services may use artificial streaming methods even if they don't disclose how the streams are generated.
Fraudulent activity may result in removal of your music, restrictions on your earnings, or closure of your Soundrop account.
Copyright and trademark infringement
You must have the necessary rights to all content you submit to Soundrop, including:
- audio;
- compositions;
- artwork;
- artist names and branding; and
- any other copyrighted or trademarked material included in your release.
If Soundrop identifies a potential rights issue, we may ask you to provide documentation showing that you have permission to use the content or require you to change your release.
Rights complaints from music platforms or other rights holders may also result in content being removed or action being taken on your Soundrop account.
If you're unsure whether you have the necessary rights to use something, you should resolve those rights before submitting it to Soundrop.
AI-generated content
Soundrop doesn't distribute content generated by artificial intelligence.
This applies even if the AI service you used allows commercial use of the generated content. Soundrop can't verify that AI-generated material is unique or that all necessary rights are controlled by the person submitting it.
Abusive or harassing behavior
We understand that problems with your music, account, or earnings can be frustrating, and you're welcome to raise concerns, disagree with a decision, or tell us when you believe something has gone wrong.
However, Soundrop doesn't accept abusive or harassing behavior toward our staff or community. This includes:
- directing abusive, threatening, or demeaning language at Soundrop staff or community members;
- attempting to obtain or share staff members' personal information;
- contacting staff through their personal social media accounts;
- repeatedly harassing or spamming Soundrop's communication channels; or
- encouraging others to harass Soundrop staff or community members.
A pattern of abusive or harassing behavior may result in restrictions on your account or removal from Soundrop.
Hate speech and hateful content
Soundrop doesn't accept content that promotes violence against people based on protected characteristics such as race, color, religion, nationality, gender identity, or sexual orientation, including the use of words or symbols associated with movements that promote this type of violence.
Content expressing political or ideological views isn't prohibited solely because of those views, provided it doesn't violate Soundrop's policies on hate speech or other prohibited content.
What happens if my account violates these policies?
The action Soundrop takes depends on the nature and severity of the issue. This may include asking you to provide additional information or rights documentation, requiring changes to a release, removing content from distribution, restricting earnings, or closing your Soundrop account.
Some serious violations, including fraud, may result in immediate action.
