If you've opted in to YouTube Content ID through Soundrop, you may see FUGA / IIP-DDS place a Content ID claim on a video containing your music. A Content ID claim is not a copyright strike. In most cases, you don't need to do anything. The action you should take depends on whether you want Soundrop to monetize the video or have the claim released.
Why does my video have a claim from FUGA / IIP-DDS?
Soundrop partners with FUGA to provide YouTube Content ID services. Soundrop and FUGA are both part of Downtown Music, and FUGA's deliveries are powered by a service called IIP-DDS.
- Because of this, Content ID claims placed on Soundrop's behalf may appear as FUGA / IIP-DDS.
- If you've opted your music into YouTube Content ID through Soundrop, this is expected.
- The claim means YouTube's Content ID system identified your Soundrop recording in the video so that eligible uses can be monetized on your behalf.
- Soundrop and FUGA don't own your music or copyright.
- If you want Soundrop to continue monetizing the video through Content ID, you don't need to take any action.

I'm a Soundrop artist and want to monetize my own video
If Soundrop has claimed a video on your own YouTube channel but you want to handle monetization yourself, dispute the claim from your YouTube account. Include the following information in your dispute:
- your name;
- your Soundrop username; and
- a clear statement that you're a Soundrop artist and want to handle monetization for this video yourself.
For example:
My name is [NAME]. I am a Soundrop artist ([SOUNDROP USERNAME]) and I wish to handle my own monetization on this video.
Soundrop's Content Administrators will review the dispute and release the claim.
Make sure you include your Soundrop username. If Soundrop can't verify your account and request, the claim may be reinstated.
See YouTube's instructions for disputing a Content ID claim.
I gave someone permission to use my music without a claim
If you gave a YouTube creator permission to use your music without Soundrop monetizing their video, they can dispute the Content ID claim through YouTube.
- The dispute should include evidence that you gave them permission.
- This can be a shareable link to documentation showing the permission you've provided.
- Alternatively, you can contact Soundrop Support to confirm that you've given the channel owner permission. Include:
- your Soundrop username;
- the affected song;
- the affected YouTube video; and
- confirmation that you want Soundrop to release the claim.
I'm not a Soundrop artist and want to dispute a FUGA / IIP-DDS claim
- If you're a creator who received a FUGA / IIP-DDS claim but don't believe the claim is valid, submit a dispute through your YouTube account.
- Include any relevant information or evidence explaining why you have the right to use the music.
- Soundrop's Content Administrators will review the information provided through the dispute process.
Why was my YouTube video blocked?
YouTube may block certain videos containing multiple tracks from the same album, including videos containing an entire album.
If your video has been blocked and you believe it should be available, you can dispute the claim through your YouTube account.
If you're uploading your own album to YouTube, consider uploading each song as a separate video and organizing the videos into a playlist instead of uploading the entire album as one video.
How do I check whether my video has a Content ID claim?
You can check for Content ID claims in YouTube Studio:
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- Select Content from the left menu.
- Use the filter bar and select Copyright.
- Look for Copyright in the Restrictions column.
- Select the restriction to view details about the claim.
YouTube may also email you when a Content ID claim is placed on one of your videos.
I expected a Content ID claim, but don't see one
A Content ID claim isn't guaranteed every time your music appears in a YouTube video.
If you've recently opted your release into YouTube Content ID, allow time for the recording to be delivered and processed.
You can check YouTube Studio to see whether a claim has been placed.
If you're having trouble with Content ID delivery or believe an eligible recording hasn't been added to Content ID correctly, contact Soundrop Support and include:
- your Soundrop username;
- the affected release and track;
- the YouTube video URL; and
- a description of what you're seeing.
