General
How do I cancel/takedown a release?
We have a whole article on that here.
How long does it take for my release to be removed from stores?
It can take up to 30 days for a release to be removed from stores, but in most cases, your release should be removed in 5-7 days.
Can I "un-cancel"(un-"takedown") a release?
Sorry, once you issue a cancellation, you can't redistribute the same release (For exceptions see: Can I resubmit with the same UPC if my release was never delivered to stores?)
I'm moving to another distributor, how do I make sure my stats transfer?
Sorry to see you go! You'll follow the same steps you would use to move your content TO Soundrop: Just substitute "Soundrop" with "Current Distributor" and "Current Distributor" with "Soundrop"
Can I get a refund for my licensing fees?
If you are canceling because your tracks were not able to be licensed, absolutely! If your tracks have been licensed, we cannot issue refunds. Remember! Licensed tracks are always available to be put on any other release. You can always re-use those licensed tracks. If you need to request a refund, you can do so using this form.
Not all stores are listed as "Live" on my release, can I still issue a takedown?
You can, but may need a little help from our support team! Issue the takedown for the "Live" stores, then fill out this form to request removal from the rest.
My release was never delivered to the music stores, how do I remove or delete it?
Please use this form to contact our support team to pull the release out of processing or delete an unreleased project from your account. Makes sure you select "Takedown/Remove my release" from the drop-down menu.
Can I delete a release from my account that was previously delivered to the music stores but I have since cancelled/taken down?
No. Once a release has been distributed we can no longer delete it from your account, even if it has been cancelled from distribution. We need to keep these releases inside your account for record-keeping purposes.
Do I have to issue an individual takedown for each release if I want to cancel my whole catalog?
We'd hate to see you go, but we can remove all your releases for you. Please fill out this form with all of your UPCs, and we'll take care of the rest.
Troubleshooting
How do I know if my takedown was effective?
The release you've requested for cancellation/takedown will move from the "Live" tab to the "Takedowns" tab. Once the cancellation is complete, your release will be removed from "Takedowns" and remain in your "My Music" section of your account.
What if it's been 30 days and my title is still up?
It can take up to 30 days for a release to be removed from stores. If it has been more than 30 days, please reach out to us by submitting a request and selecting "Takedown/Remove my release" with the partner and link.
Creating New Releases
(After cancellation/takedown)
Do I have to pay licensing fees again?
If you are using the same tracks, audio, and metadata from your canceled release, you don't need to pay a new fee! All you need to do is search for those tracks when creating a new release. If you're adding new tracks, or need to significantly change the audio or metadata, you will need to purchase a new license. See what changes can I make to my title once it’s been delivered? ? for more information on what edits can be made.
Can I submit with the same UPC if my release was never delivered to stores?
If your release was never delivered to partners (meaning, it was never in the "Live" tab), you may use the same UPC. All you need to do is go to the "Distribution" tab, and click "Distribute release". If you don't see that option, please contact support for assistance.
I cancelled from some stores, but still want to add new partners, can I do that?
Sure can! All you need to do is click "Send to More" on the distribution tab. Remember, you can only select stores to which you have not previously issued a takedown.
