Our partners have a list of famous artists for which independent distributors like Soundrop are not allowed to send content. If a project includes famous artists, we need to make sure you own or have cleared any necessary rights to distribute through Soundrop. You will need to provide us with a copy of the signed artist agreement to prove that your project is indeed a collaboration between you and the specified artist.
There will be a delay in this content going live on the partner sites because we must submit proof of rights prior to distributing your music.
Your documentation should include most, if not all, of the following. Any missing information may result in further delay:
- Identifying information of all parties, especially physical addresses and legal names of all parties.
- Specific information regarding compensation, especially information regarding work-for-hire.
- Specific information regarding the specific content being used and in what fashion (name of song, release timeline, etc.).
Some artists on that list match common names like "John Williams," the famous composer. We're able to appeal to our partners if you have a common name by confirming that you're distributing original content, not copyrighted material, but this process is lengthy. Please clarify with us if you share your legal name with a famous artist.
Please send us the documentation by submitting a request and choosing "Content Review Clarification" and choosing "I am providing/attaching additional requested information". It will be reviewed by our digital inspectors.
