If your release didn't pass inspection because of an issue with your audio, check the reason provided by Soundrop below to understand what you need to fix or provide.
After resolving all inspection issues, you'll need to resubmit your release for inspection. See: How to fix and resubmit a release that failed inspection
Unlicensed remix or samples
Soundrop identified audio in your track that you may not have the rights to use. This can include samples, remixes, or other third-party audio.
If you have permission to use the audio, you'll need to provide documentation showing that you have the necessary rights.
What to do:
Contact Soundrop Support and select Content Review Clarification. Include the requested documentation showing your rights to use the audio.
A cover song license doesn't give you permission to use audio from someone else's recording. See: What songs can Soundrop license?
Matching audio
Soundrop identified audio in your track that matches another recording. This can happen when your recording contains non-exclusive audio, such as:
- royalty-free beats;
- loops;
- samples; or
- other sounds that are also used in another recording.
Soundrop may need more information about where the audio came from and your rights to use it.
What to do:
Contact Soundrop Support and select Content Review Clarification. Provide information about the source of the matching audio and any relevant licenses or permissions.
If you've submitted a cover song and your recording sounds too similar to the original recording, it may be considered a sound-alike. Soundrop can't distribute sound-alike recordings. See: What is a sound-alike?
Incorrect audio language
The language of lyrics selected for your track must match the language heard in the audio.
What to do:
- If your track contains vocals, select the language used in the lyrics.
- If the language isn't available in Soundrop, select the closest available language.
- If the lyrics use an artificial, constructed, or fictional language, use the same language selected for the release's metadata.
- If the track doesn't contain vocals, select Instrumental.
After correcting the language, save your changes and resubmit the release for inspection.
Audio snippet, teaser, or advertisement
Soundrop can't distribute tracks that are snippets, teasers, or advertisements for other content. This includes:
- partial sections of songs intended to promote a full-length version; and
- full or partial songs containing additional audio that advertises an album, song, or other content.
If your track is short, make sure it's the complete recording and has a clear ending. Tracks that end abruptly may appear to be incomplete.
What to do:
Replace the audio with the complete recording or remove promotional or advertising content, then resubmit your release for inspection.
Duplicate audio
Soundrop identified audio that matches a song already submitted in its system. You can't submit the same recording under a different artist name.
What to do:
If you're trying to change the artist name associated with an existing distributed recording, don't submit the same audio as a new release under a different artist name. See: Updates or fixes that require a cancellation
If you believe your audio has been incorrectly identified as a duplicate, contact Soundrop Support and select Content Review Clarification.
Audio doesn't play
Soundrop can't distribute an audio file that doesn't play correctly. For example, a track may show a duration of 0:00 if there's a problem with the uploaded file.
What to do:
- Go to My Music and open Tracks.
- Check the affected track to make sure the uploaded audio plays correctly.
- If necessary, replace the audio with a valid file.
- Save your changes and resubmit the release for inspection.
For supported audio formats and specifications, see What audio files can I upload to Soundrop?
